Privacy Policy
Thank you for using MediaGlide Go ("the App"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and how we protect your data. This App is a free, ad-supported version of our media controller tools.
1. Information We Do Not Collect Directly
The developer does not collect, store, share, or sell any personally identifiable information (PII) or personal data. We do not directly collect, access, or store:
- Personal Details: Your name, email address, or contact details.
- Media Content: Your local media files or audio recordings.
- Location: We do not directly collect or store your location. (Note: As disclosed in Section 2, integrated third-party ad networks may automatically process approximate location data based on your IP address to deliver localized ads).
- Inter-App Data: Any data or content displayed inside other applications.
2. Information Collected by Third-Party Advertising Partners
To keep MediaGlide Go free, the App displays advertisements served by third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdMob). These third-party networks utilize software development kits (SDKs) embedded in the App that automatically collect and process certain non-personal device data to serve, target, optimize, and measure ads.
Data Collected Automatically by Ad Providers:
- Device or other IDs: The Android Advertising ID (AAID) and unique device/app set tokens used for ad attribution and capping.
- Approximate Location: General, network-level location data derived from your IP address to provide localized, regionally-compliant ad content.
- App Activity & Interactions: Information regarding the ads served to you, whether you clicked or touched them, and basic metrics on ad overlay clicks within the interface.
- Performance & Diagnostics: Technical crash logs, framework startup speeds, and system stability diagnostics used exclusively for ad SDK bug fixing and fraud prevention.
- Technical Device Information: Device model, operating system version, mobile carrier, language settings, and screen resolution.
How This Data is Used:
Third-party vendors use this data to serve contextual or personalized advertisements, prevent fraud, optimize network performance, and analyze ad campaign effectiveness. You can manage your personalized advertising preferences or reset your advertising ID within your Android device's system settings under Settings > Google > Ads.
3. Information the App Accesses Locally (On-Device Only)
Media Metadata
To display playback controls and album art on the floating widget, the App reads media metadata actively broadcasted by your device’s active third-party media player.
- Data Accessed: Track name, artist name, album name, and album artwork.
- Handling: This processing occurs entirely locally, in real-time, and only while media is playing. This information is never saved, logged, stored, or transmitted to any external server by the App.
Album Art and Advertisements Disclaimer
- App Advertisements: All app-driven advertisements are strictly confined to the designated, isolated ad banner area within the app's user interface.
- Album Art Imagery: Separately, the App displays album artwork provided directly by your device’s active external media player. If that external media source broadcasts artwork containing corporate logos, promotional text, or embedded imagery, those elements are entirely supplied by that platform. MediaGlide Go does not generate, modify, or inject advertisements into the album art stream itself.
4. Permissions Used and Why
The App requests specific Android system permissions necessary to provide core widget functionality. These permissions are used strictly as described:
- Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Allows the floating controller widget to remain visible on top of other applications. The App does not view, read, or capture any data or interaction taking place in those underlying apps.
- Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE): Allows the App to keep the floating widget active and responsive while you navigate between other applications.
- Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required by the Android operating system to display the mandatory persistent system notification tied to our background/foreground service. The App does not use notifications for marketing or promotional alerts.
5. Third-Party Services & Links
The App contains embedded code from third-party advertising partners. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of our primary advertising provider:
6. Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly or directly collect any personal data from individuals of any age. However, because third-party advertising SDKs are present, we handle ad serving in compliance with standard platform restrictions. If you are a parent or guardian and wish to restrict data processing by third-party ad networks on a child's device, please adjust the device's Google Ads settings or privacy restrictions within the Android operating system.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect functional updates or regulatory modifications. Any changes will be made transparently by posting the new Privacy Policy text directly within this link or on the Google Play Store listing.
